We used to embroider by hand and were initially reluctant about using embroidery machines as we felt, at its purest level, embroidery was a handcraft requiring skill and patience from the embroider.
However, a few years ago we attended a craft fair and saw a stand with beautiful embroidery creations. We felt certain that these were created by a skilled hand craftsman and were astonished to learn that no, they were created using a machine. Since then we have almost exclusively used embroidery machines to create our "masterpieces". We still embroider by hand too as for us it is VERY enjoyable.
This site was created because we love embroidery so much and feel that there are many more like us that would appreciate a site like this.
